Game Dev Status
It's been a while since I last did a dev log post and a month since kickstarter happened. Starting out without a huge fan base is tough, especially when you want your games to be seen. But I am glad that I have some fans that enjoy my games. It motivates me a lot.
I'm hoping that within the next 30 days, my kickstarter will do better. If not, well, I guess that's part of game dev life. You pick yourself back up and tackle at it again. This time with a smaller scope.
In terms of the progression of the future of this game, I'm debating on if I should finish this game or put the game on hold and finish the game in the future. Don't get me wrong, I'm not stopping game development, just moving on to a new project where I can build a stronger presence of myself. Making a game takes a very long time and a huge amount of dedication. I'm already regretting making this rpg game lol. There's just so much work. But who knows, maybe my demo will become viral and I actually do go back and continue to develop that game. Or I'll just do it whenever I have spare time.
I've been fixing bugs and updating the game constantly whenever a huge issue arises. Other than that, I've been working on another game which is taking longer than usual to finish. I'm hoping we can get a trailer out by the end of December or something.
I'm pretty open when it comes to game development. In terms of personality and the stage of where the game is at. I don't beat around the bush. I think the fans should understand what's happening.
This is my stats for my game. It's actually pretty good for in itch game. Some developers would kill for a "successful" demo.
Notice the views and downloads skyrocketed during the end of october. I think it's because it's halloween and that's a good time for streamers to pick a game and just play. That's my theory on what's going on. But who knows, maybe I'm wrong and it's at the early stage of the game being popular.
Anyways, in terms of the game development status. I would say, if kickstarter fails, I would put this game on hold and work on other games, or work on this game little by littler, and if kickstater succeeds, I'm pretty much finishing this game.
yobob out!
I guess stay tune for my next update after 30 days!
